Gadsden Public Library Foundation

The Gadsden Public Library Foundation advocates for the library’s role in our community, made possible by donations and support.

Established in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the purpose remains strong: Securing private support for the Gadsden Public Library’s services, programs, and outreach; to support collections; for selected capital improvements; and to promote greater awareness of the library’s valuable resources. The Foundation supports projects which complement, but do not supplant, the city's responsibility for library operations.

Members of the Gadsden Public Library Foundation understand that a public library cannot be sustained on public funding alone; that in order to provide the best goods, services and programs to its patrons, a library must have support from the community for which it serves.  Support comes to the Foundation through yearly fundraisers. And a steady stream of support comes through revenue from the Friends of the GPL Bookstore.
